Last Thursday I finally got to experience the Swiss tradition of Fondue! This swiss dish was originally eaten by farmers who took their cows into the mountains for the summers. They would have very few options for food, but there was always cheese and bread.
The SIT program took all participants and their host families for a night of melted cheese good conversation. I learned that you are not supposed to eat chocolate fondue after cheese fondue and that you must not drink cold beverages during fondue. Instead one should drink wine or hot tea and follow the meal with a bowl of fruit.
